My name is Jamie Kenningham and I was born with complex congenital heart defects, among others, Pulmonary Atresia. I’ve now had 6 open heart operations during my life, the last being in 2005. I’m so lucky to be alive – I had access to world class care in London. Many of my operations were ground breaking medical advancements, and I am grateful for the amazing care I received. Because my condition was from birth, I grew up with a lot of adversity around my health and realize now how lucky I am to be here.
I moved to Seattle in 2008 after meeting and falling in love with a tall American girl on an 8 hour bus trip in New Zealand! We live in Magnolia with our pets Kai and Toby.
My heart condition shapes the way I look at the world and makes me want to seek ways to give back and help others. I am looking forward to the Gene Juarez fashion show, because I am hopeful that by raising awareness I can help to be an advocate and show that you can not only survive, but thrive, with a complex heart defect. I want to bring hope to someone and give them the confidence to go on and do big things!
Living A Beautiful Life to means having respect and love for everybody. Everyone has their own journey and own path that they are taking and I want to do my best to help people along that path if I can.
