
The name itself stands for talent, inspiration and excellence, elements that have made Gene Juarez one of the most successful salon owners in the nation. In three decades, Gene Juarez has created eight full–service salons and spas, two cosmetology schools and the Gene Juarez Advanced Training Salon.
Gene Juarez mastered his cosmetology career in Seattle’s most distinguished salons. In 1971, Gene ventured out on his own and opened the first modern–fashion beauty salon in the Northwest. Soon after, he opened a salon in the original Downtown Seattle Nordstrom and continued rapid growth while capturing the attention of the Northwest residents and the local media with his high energy and fashion–forward inspirations.
In 1980, Gene Juarez was selected for membership in Intercoiffure America, an exclusive group of 200 of the most prestigious salons in the United States and Canada. His memberships include International Chain Salon Association and Haute Coiffure in Paris and The Salon Association. His distinguished honors include selection as 1989 Modern Salon Magazine’s “Salon Owner of the Year”; one of the nations 1997 Top Salon Owners, Salon Today; 1997 and 2000 America’s Salon of the Year, Modern Salon Magazine; 1992 Northwest Entrepreneur of the Year, sponsored by Inc. Magazine; and one of the 20 Most Intriguing Salon Owners of 2003 in Salon Today. Gene Juarez Salons & Spas has been repeatedly elected “Seattle’s Best” by the Seattle Weekly’s famous “Reader’s Choice” poll, King 5 Television’s Evening Magazine Viewers Poll, Women’s Wear Daily and The New York Times.
Gene continues to keep abreast of emerging styles and ideas through his travels to national and international fashion centers in order to implement new trends in the Pacific Northwest.
With a strong belief in giving back to the community that supports you, Gene is known as a major contributor to several community organizations. He consistently supports organizations such as Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Boy Scouts of America, Big Brothers and Poncho–the organization that raises millions of dollars for Northwest arts and cultural activities.
