Spring 2010

The change of season is upon us. It's getting lighter outside and the cherry blossoms are awakening, which means we have survived the winter once again! We will all spring forward to a time of renewal and revived spirit!

Now, we the Team Artistic, live in the ‘Fashion Seasons’ a full season ahead of the real world! We created our Spring 2010 imagery on the wettest, stormiest and frankly the bleakest day of November 2009. Despite the conditions, we photographed 3 beautiful women at a stunning Seattle landmark, The Volunteer Park Conservatory. We charged ahead as the rain came down, the power blew out and we trudged around in the mud…but the result was an imagined sunny Spring day filled with froth, fun, and fashion! Totally worth it!

On paper, women's fashion can seem complex and seasonal beauty trends may appear frivolous. The truth is that we all know there is more than one way to be beautiful. Therefore, trends in fashion and beauty are meant to ignite our spirit and engage us in a process of evolution — to be truly of the moment while respecting one’s personal style, my personal mantra. So our journey into Spring began with three: Kyla, Angela and Sena. Smart, fun, and fabulous personalities to illustrate the season's top trends.

The first trend, a perfectly pretty, blush and white daytime look enhanced by romantic ruffles and feathers! The young team at the house of Valentino showed it best! Frou Fantasy Collection

The second, a street inspired look, suitable for the downtown girl or the women that wants to feel like one. Rock-n-roll T’s, military tops and skinny pants paired with metallic accessories bounded off the runway of Balmain and Balenciaga into a much-needed surprise in a season of frou. Future Urbanite Collection

And lastly we must not forget the red carpet moment that every woman wishes for, best illustrated by Oscar de la Renta. Bright bold saturated colors in femininely draped evening gowns. Draped Drama

The thing that Team Artistic loves about the Fashion Seasons is the ability to take women on a journey into seeing themselves in a new way. Even a professional model can get into a rut and ignore the possibilities for her style. When we cast Kyla, Angela, and Sena each model saw herself best represented in one of the three collections, but was thrilled with the transformation on each look and noticed how her attitude and posture shifted depending on the wardrobe, hair and make-up changes. Like playing dress up as a child, but with greater sense of self and the magic of the professional hairdresser, make-up artist, and nail artist on your team.

For specifics on the how-to hair trends that accompany our three fashion statements for 2010 ‘Frou Fantasy’, ‘Future Urbanite’ and ‘Draped Drama’, visit each individual models look and watch their transformations in the behind the scenes video!
