Welcome to 09!
Here we are at a time of great change and challenges for many. As we begin a new year, I look forward with optimism and anticipation. At Gene Juarez, we the artists have the great privilege to be a source of transformation, and inspiration for all of our guests. As someone who spends every day with 10 different women in my chair, I believe this is a time to be more fabulous, exciting, and inventive than ever. Margaret Russell, Editor-in-Chief of Elle Decor magazine, said in the January issue of her publication, “Everyone wants to live well, even when we are forced to be more mindful of how we spend our money.” And I think she is right.
With this thought in mind, 2009 must be the time to break out and explore new ideas about beauty and fashion; a time to refine your own personal style. It has also been said by Oscar Wilde that, “One should either be a work of art, or wear a work of art.” Our hair is the accessory we wear every day. Therefore a hairstyle that is perfectly executed and fashionable is one of the most rewarding and sustainable investments a woman can make. Along with the right hair color and the right makeup, a haircut, helps to define your personal style and may be the chance to be fabulous and feel liberated every single day.
Last, an encouraging and exciting thing about challenging times is that they bring about great innovation and new thinking. Born out of dreams of the Gene Juarez Salons & Spas Hair Artists) there is outstanding innovation living in the hands of our Hair Artists and for our guests to take home.
